Two Langley’s?
Originally incorporated in 1873 and referred to as the “Birthplace of BC”, the municipality situated north of the USA and South of the Fraser River, Langley continues to be rich in heritage with a vision of a vibrant future.
What started over disagreements regarding the annual surplus spending on streetlights and sidewalks, resulted in a proclamation of a new separate municipality on March 15, 1955.
The City of Langley
Surrounded by over 346 acres of parkland, the City of Langley is the downtown hub and is an active retail pulse in the Lower Mainland. With a population of 26,000 the city offers great shopping and dining, recreational and entertainment facilities.
Offering a pedestrian friendly downtown core with independent shops, eateries, and community attractions. The city is home to Kwantlen Polytechnic University, The Cascades Casino and Convention centre, and the annual community Farmers Market.

Almost entirely accessible by transit, this tight-knit community is always open to welcoming its visitors to many street fairs and festivals, especially its ever popular Langley Good Times Cruise-In. The “Cruise-In” has become one of the largest mixed car shows in Canada and one of the Top 10 in North America drawing cars and spectators from across Canada and the United States.
