Chilliwack Libraries – Fraser Valley Regional Libraries
Chilliwack Libraries are part of the FVRL which was established in 1930, and it was the first of its kind in North America. Today FRVL is the largest public library system in British Columbia with 25 community libraries serving over 700,000 people. They founded the The Fraser Valley Book Van project in July 1930, which displayed books along outside shelves visiting rural residents between Hope and Ladner, even stopping at grocery stores, gas stations and schools.
Their mission is to “connect people to the world of information and ideas”.
There are Fees and Fines at the Chilliwack Libraries and as much as the service is pretty much free when it comes to borrowing books and other materials from the library, there is a certain level of responsibility attached. Allowing others to borrow and use the same resources as you, the library has time limits on your use. If those times are exceeded, they come with minor penalties.
For Fines, Fees and Charges, please inquire with the library directly.
