Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) opened August 24th 2008, being the replacement for Matsqui-Sumas-Abbotsford General Hospital and was the first new hospital built in BC in the last 30 years. ARH was the largest project to date within the Fraser Valley calculated at 60,000 square metres and 300 beds.

Abbotsford Regional Hospital was the first hospital in Western Canada to have a Cancer centre integrated from the beginning in their design. This hospital is our city’s largest worksite when it comes to the number of employees. It contains a Cafe and a Starbucks as well as a gift shop. They have volunteers there to help you find where you need to go as well as finding patients for you, and allow pet visitation.

Abbotsford Regional Hospital provides 24/7 emergency medicine, surgery, medical imaging, cardiac services, maternity care including an amazing Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric care, dialysis, and of course a full range of Cancer control services.

Basic Shared Rooms
Basic Rooms are shared by up to four patients and there is no cost to the patients if they have valid BC Medical Services Plan Coverage.

Private or Semi-Private Rooms
Fraser Health refers to these rooms as their Preferred Accommodation Program. These rooms provide you the option of of staying in a private or Semi-Private room for a daily fee. All rooms are subject to availability and you must notify the admitting clerk at the hospital when you arrive that you are interested in these rooms. The cost for a Private Room is $195; Semi Private Room $165.
