The force is divided into 6 branches; Patrol, Criminal Investigation, Finance & Budget, Human Resources, Operations Support, and Support Services, together they have over 300 employees.

This program assists in keeping smaller crimes and nuisance activities out of neighbourhoods and provides a safer community for families. The Block Watch is as simple as a community coming together, posting Block Watch signs and reporting suspicious activity to the authorities. The Abbotsford Police Foundation (APF) provides support and outreach assistance for aspects not covered in the annual budget of the Abbotsford Police Department. These initiatives assist with public safety, professional development, and community policing programs.
